Dunedin back to Christchurch

Having checked out of the comfortable Allan Court Motel in Dunedin, we spent the morning wandering around the Dundein Botanical Garden (and the aviary). In the aviary we saw our first Kakas, as well as a lot of parrots, parakeets, etc. The gardens were lovely (we finally identified a bellbird and, probably, a grey warbler), and we had a very nice midmorning snack in the excellent cafe. We then drove up Signal Hill, which provided us with terrific panoramic views over Dunedin. As we started to drive back up to Christchurch, we took a slight detour on what was presumably the 'old' north road, and gained further wonderful views of the Otago Peninsula.
